Gain Further Strategic Advantage For Your Firm By Integrating Cloud Solutions

Law firms must look at how they deliver and manage their information in order to remain competitive and resilient in the face of an ever changing technological landscape. Of course, cloud solutions can operate in isolation, with firms using one platform or another. However, we know from recent reports, such as McKinsey 2021, that cloud can become an important source of strategic advantage for firms, no more so than when firms embrace the full integrated capability of the cloud.

So how can law firms benefit from integrated cloud solutions such as the partnership between market leader in document and email management, iManage and leading e-bundling solution Bundledocs?

Some of benefits of embracing digital transformation and truly integrated cloud solutions include:

1.     Increased Flexibility & Reliability

In 2020, operational efficiency was the top challenge facing law firms. Utilising multiple cloud integrations can reduce the time you spend on everyday processes such as case documents, bundles and communicating with clients, positively impacting on scarce resources such as your teams’ time. For example, in a study conducted by Aderant, 82% of respondents said that cloud solutions had a positive impact on their document management.

Integrations allow for firms to be operated from any device, in any location. For some, this flexibility will allow for talent from other geographical locations to be hired. Cloud solutions can be adapted with a firm as it grows into the future. A study conducted by the Harvard Business Review found that business agility was the primary reason for respondents when choosing to adopt the cloud.

2.     Enhanced Competitiveness

77% of organisations believe that the cloud has given them an advantage over their competitors. By choosing to use more and more cloud based solutions firms can streamline their processes even further, saving them time and money. Reducing timely and repetitive tasks in turn enables firms to give more of their precious time to their clients, ultimately enhancing their service over the competition.

3.     Superior Security

The American Bar Association found that 76% of large law firms report that their clients want firms to implement more stringent security requirements. It is important that firms adopt a solution that will not compromise sensitive data but enhance their security and ability to adapt to security threats in the long run. Did you know that cloud solutions actually provide more security than on premise software? Verizon’s, Data Breach Investigations Report 2020 found that cloud assets accounted for 24% of breaches, compared to 70% of on-premise assets in 2020 alone?

At Bundledocs for example, our own cloud based solution was the first e-bundling tool to be ISO 27001 certified, safeguarding your data. Adopting a fully integrated cloud solution will no doubt simplify workflows without compromising on security.

Creating bundles is simple with Bundledocs seamless integration with iManage.

We know that technology is moving at an ever increasing pace globally. This can bring both challenges and opportunities for organisations, not least additional costs and skill requirements.

According to a recent report from Dell and Intel, the industry leaders of tomorrow are already using technology to gain and maintain a competitive advantage over their peers. It’s well documented that Cloud first services can offer an important source of strategic advantage and transform digital capabilities for businesses.

What do we mean by agile? Put it simply it’s the ability to move quickly and easily or in a business context, it’s a companies’ ability to identify and adapt to new opposition by implementing changes quickly and effectively.

But how can cloud solutions create a more agile offering for your clients?

Cloud platforms can help your business to activate new digital customer experiences in days rather than months and enable your teams to work seamlessly and collaboratively from any location. A study conducted by the Harvard Business Review found that business agility was the primary reason for 32% of respondents when choosing to adopt the cloud.

Forward-thinking businesses have already begun to incorporate cloud into their risk-assessment frameworks and decision making on risk. According to a recent report from Mckinsey Digital executives have traditionally been nervous to move to cloud because of security concerns whereas the reality now is that the security offered by cloud service providers often outstrips companies individual capacity.

Take Bundledocs for example, we have been awarded ISO 27001 certification, the recognised international standard for information security – the only electronic document bundling software to have received this accreditation. The certification is awarded to businesses that can prove their systems protect user information both internally and externally.

At Bundledocs, demand for our paperless solution has increased by over 40% in recent months as Covid 19 meant remote working became the norm for so many professionals in the legal space and beyond. By switching to our cloud based solution they now benefit from continuous software updates with new functionalities and features added regularly.

Bundledocs market leading cloud software is the ultimate tool for today’s paperless lawyer, now sold in over 30 countries worldwide - once you take the first step, the sky’s the limit when it comes to the advantages of the cloud.

Bundledocs Announce Partnership with Denovo

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

HELPING THE LEGAL INDUSTRY CREATE E-BUNDLES FROM ANYWHERE

Scotland’s leading legal practice management software provider Denovo has partnered with Bundledocs, the cloud-first document bundling software provider, to drive efficiency and save hours of time creating court bundles.

In an industry that is known to be technology, or at least, risk-averse and fearful of moving away from a paper-based means of working, Denovo are looking to help change that image.

The innovative legal tech firm has spent months working alongside industry professionals as they planned their roll out of the integration with Bundledocs. With over 900 clients across 34 countries, Bundledocs has become the market leader in the electronic document production space, working primarily with the legal sector. The platform allows law firms to take documents from anywhere and organise them into a neat, numbered, indexed, and sectioned booklet in minutes. The integration means firms can be more efficient, with no printing, increasing productivity and enhancing data security.

“We want to ensure we are giving our law firm partners an opportunity to be as efficient as possible,” said Steven Hill, Operations Director at Denovo. “Our law firms partners tell us that one of the main reasons that E-bundling has not been fully adopted by the legal industry is because a lot of digital products out there don’t work in reality. They are cumbersome, non-compliant and don’t mirror the way paper court bundles are created. They also do not work seamlessly with case management products. Our experience is that lawyers and courts are very willing to adopt technology, especially nowadays, as long as it can meet their needs… and do it well.”

Steven added: “The Bundledocs process is the answer. It takes all the pain out of ensuring that bundles are created on time and paginated properly. Denovo users can now effortlessly upload matter files directly from CaseLoad into specific sections of their bundle. Once uploaded a complete bundle can be created in minutes. It simplifies a time-consuming task that up until now required too much manpower, supervision and negatively hits a firms’ profit margin - not to mention the environmental impact.”

This integration with Denovo will provide further efficiencies for customers, allowing traditionally paper-heavy sectors such as the legal profession to move to a cloud-first, completely paperless collaborative workflow.
— Brian Kenneally, CEO

Commenting on the partnership, Brian Kenneally, CEO of Bundledocs, said: “We are delighted to partner with Denovo, offering the benefits of Bundledocs to their customer base. Demand for our services has increased by over 40% in the last year, as law firms increasingly turn to digital and remote solutions. Our client base has grown to include many of the world’s Top 200 law firms, as well as in-house Government departments in the UK, Australia, Ireland and the US.

“This integration with Denovo will provide further efficiencies for customers, allowing traditionally paper-heavy sectors such as the legal profession to move to a cloud-first, completely paperless collaborative workflow.”

Bundledocs’ easy-to-use software provides legal professionals with powerful document bundling, in-browser document manipulation, a suite of annotation features, OCR, collaboration and secure sharing.

How Can Law Firms Embrace More Sustainable Practices In Line With Global Ambition?

sustainable blog graphc LinkedIn.png

There has been a global shift when it comes to implementing more sustainable practises.  Law firms are no exception, with many now recognising that implementing sustainable business practises is vital to long term business success.

But what is sustainability and how can law firms better embrace it?

Sustainability is most often defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. The term sustainability is not only about individuals and environmental factors, but it also involves creating value for all stakeholders, be that through social purpose or maximising profits.

While the Sustainable Development Goals may initially appear challenging, here are some first steps that law firms can take to pursue more sustainable practices:

Embrace New Technologies

When it comes to integrating sustainable practises within a business – technology can play a really positive role. Many firms are already embracing digital solutions as the look to reduce their carbon footprint and better operate remotely. Where previously employees would travel to meetings, they are now conducted via online platforms such as Zoom and Teams. Last year for example, at Bundledocs we saw a 40% increase for our solutions, the dramatic shift to remote working gave businesses the push they needed to take advantage of the cloud.

Reduce Paper Use

The reduction of paper use in law firms is favourable all around - reducing direct environmental impact whilst also reducing business costs and increasing digital collaboration.

While this practise is beneficial for the environment it also assists in reducing overall costs for the business. One of our Bundledocs partners, Hilary Hallen, Senior Learning and Development Trainer, Knights PLC explains the benefit they saw “In addition to saving paper, there is also timesaving, which can be attributed to the technology, of course – and which in turn means a better experience for the person carrying out the task as part of their working day”.

Promote Diversity

Being sustainable does not focus solely on the environment. For law firms to implement effective sustainability strategies they must look at their internal practises. Many law firms are now making commitments to ensure that they prioritise diversity within their workplace affording equal opportunities to all. A diverse workforce ensures that all clients' needs can be met. To make progress within this area law firms are making a commitment and engaging with the Mansfield rule.

While making changes in terms of environmental impact are important – law firms cannot forget the power of engaging in social purpose to achieve their sustainability goals. Through implementing small changes – over time sustainability can become a greater part of the overall business strategy. Like all businesses law firms must start somewhere – so don’t put it off.
